Request of the Associate Degree for the Bachelor Students
During the comple on of the courses toward the obtainment of a bachelor’s degree, students can earn
the credits necessary to meet the requirements of the Associate degree. The qualifica on informa on
and the Associate Degree module for Bachelor Students Form are located in my NRU Student Portal.
NRU's Associate can only be used to con nue studies at Newport Research University. The cost depends
on the number of credits to be acquired: no less than 6 credits. The cost of each credit is the same as the
Bachelor Degree.

Workload Policy
Newport Research University (NRU) expects students to progress through their study program at a pace in
which students succeed. Most NRU students take 7 to 10 weeks to complete a course. NRU encourages
full‐ me con nuous enrollment to ensure mely gradua on. Some students may wish to progress
through their study program at a faster pace. These students are encouraged to work closely with their
assigned Academic Advisor / Tutor, when they accelerate course comple on beyond the normal course
load described below to develop a plan that will lead to success.
Workload Policy of the “Distance Learning” and “Online Campus”
The normal courses loaded in the Online Campus and Distance Learning op on are 15 semester credits (5
courses) in a given period of 23 weeks. This online learning op on allows students to complete a course
within 4/5 weeks or extend the study beyond the normal weeks for an addi onal fee, not exceeding 25
weeks.
In Bachelor’s degree, students can enroll for 12 credits per semester (4 courses) concurrently with Aca‐
demic Advisor approval.
Academic Advisors examines and approve the course workload upon submission of the enrollment re‐
quest and students, who request to pass the normal course load must meet the following requirements:
have completed at least 15 semester credits (Bachelor), or 12 semester credits (Master), at NRU
Within a semester;
have a minimum established GPA of 3.0
maintain reasonable academic progress, and
read and understand the CSU proba on, suspension, and dismissal policies.
The waiver is granted on an individual basis and students must meet the above requirements for any
waiver approval.
